These sense of taste corking, however they are unattractive. I brought them to a bake sale and nobody was ownership them, nonetheless when a man tried one he said "Wow, these are great!" and he bought the whole plate. The adjacent fourth dimension I made them I frosted them and put sprinkles and a red on them, and they sold right away. These are fabled, and I'd recommend them to everyone.
08/01/2002
Every ane loved it. I think those who had problems with it didn't melt the peanut butter mixture long enough. I used the last loving cup of chocolate chips in the purse every bit a frosting on top. Equally easy every bit making rice crispy treats! Give thanks you lot Mignonne

I've never tried the bar, but these are definitely YUMMY!... heavy, besides! They get rock-hard pretty quickly, so cut them into squares Earlier they're cooled. Also, to brand them edible later on 2-3 days of storage (if they last that long!), nuke them in the microwave until barely warm - the peanut butter mixture will soften again, and they will be as chewy and wonderful every bit when you first fabricated them!

These are dandy! I have constitute that the kind of peanut butter and corn flakes does make a difference, though. I tried it in one case with natural peanut butter and "healthy" corn flakes and information technology was a disaster ... they were and so hard I broke a knife bespeak trying to cutting them after they cooled. But with actually flossy peanut butter (I used Peter Pan) and commercial cornflakes (Kellogg'south) the outcome was crunchy, calorie-free, and delicious. I was even able to cutting dorsum a little on the corn syrup and substitute 2 T. of water, and they still came out perfect. I also like to sprinkle a few extra chocolate chips on the summit, since the chocolate has a tendency to cook when the mixture is still warm.

I had this recipe in a beloved cookbook . . . I have not fabricated them in years - just am over-joyed to discover this here! I had a horrible time cut them - my ex had to exercise it for me wearing heavy-duty gloves to protect his hands. What I concluded up doing was making "balls" of the dough and dipping them into melted chocolate . . . ***edit*** I make these for my chocolate-hating, Babe Ruth-loving manchild. I coil them into logs and don't dip them in chocolate - for naked Baby Ruth Bars for the chocolate hater. He loves them!

I have been making these for years and am just now rating them...they are great!! Quick, like shooting fish in a barrel and e'er a hit... not sure that they taste like a infant ruth bar, but who cares, they gustatory modality great. Merely tips I have: I mix the corn flakes PB and choc chips in a large bowl then am able to dump them in the melted mixture and go a better blend of ingredients. I too line a 13x9 pan with aluminum foil and and then printing the bars into it. Once in refrigerator for piffling while, you tin pull them out of the pan past the foil so use a pizza cutter to cut them into squares of whatever size. Be conscientious you don't fridgerat them too long though--they become a existent booger to cut.
09/08/2007
These were great. The kids love them. I followed the advice of the previous reviewer and lined my xiii 10 9 pan with foil, sprayed a fleck with some PAM then put in the fridge to set them upwardly a fleck. Once you cut them upwardly you lot should go on them in a tupperware container to keep them dainty and fresh and out of the fridge since they have a better texture at room temp.

I take been making these for years. My Mom used to brand these to put in our lunch boxes, and I did the dame for my kids. They are also great for showers and vacation cookie exchanges, with a niggling flake of fancying upwardly! I eliminate the white carbohydrate, and apply 1 loving cup brown saccharide. The white sugar may be role of the reason people have trouble cutting the bars. Also, since I take always used chunky peanut butter, I don't use extra peanuts. Often, I just go out out the chocolate fries, or I use them spread on peak as a sort of icing. You tin can modify up this recipe and so many ways, and it is always cracking if you lot tin get past its homely appearance!
01/22/2002
Skilful even without the peanuts
07/27/2002
I needed a quick recipe. I establish this one and it was so quick and piece of cake. The dessert did and so well someone actually wanted to pay for the recipe. I accept made information technology many times. I added white chocolate chips seperate from the chocolate and it tastes slap-up too. Thanks.
09/05/2006
These were crawly! Read all the reviews and took some communication from some of the others and decided to make the first time with the Honey Graham cereal instead of the corn flakes. I only figured it would give it more flavor and I was right. I also, earlier they cooled, melted a bag of peanut butter chips in the microwave, adding a tsp or two of shortening, and spread that on top, along with extra peanuts and the baking mini Chiliad&Ms. That made for a nicer presentation. Institute it easier to cut Later on they were cool, versus before, though. Brought half the pan to work and they were gone correct away and left the other one-half at home for all the teenagers in the neighborhood......they also disapeared right away! This is one I will definitly add together to my Christmas baking list!
06/15/2004
Granted these gems are delicious, at least what I scraped out of the pan, the balance are cooling before they are cut. I agree, they are more like Watchmacallits than Baby Ruth's. I must admit, I felt similar Lucy minus Ethyl at the Processed Factory while preparing this recipe! I needed another ready of hands, every bit the concoction sets up VERY QUICKLY when the cereal is added. Not thinking when the spatula was non working to mix everything I "dove in" with my hands. Can you lot say HOT LAVA????? Even though I had a fleck of trouble making these, they still go 5 stars. BTW, burn ointment works as good every bit buttered easily when pressing into the pan to cool.
12/21/2003
Oasis't eaten any yet, but based on all the reviews information technology should be great! The only reason I gave information technology four stars was because I wasn't sure how long to cook the mixture. It seems my mixture was smooth when I put it in the pot, so how long was I supposed to cook it? 2 min - 15 min?? Any aid is appreciated, I cooked mine until it started to get a bit dark brown, and so probably as well long, nosotros'll see.
08/13/2002
Information technology was okay but non great. I had a hard time cutting them I ended up rolling them into balls and I put them in trivial candy cups. Don't think I'd make them again,
05/23/2005
Really easy to brand and expert. I put wax paper on the bottom of the dish, coated it with non-stick spray, then I pushed the bars into the dish. To get them out I just flipped the dish upside downwardly and gave a tug on the wax paper. I added a full loving cup of peanuts, and would but add 5 cups of corn flakes if I brand this once more. Would like to try making them with Golden Grahams, instead of corn flakes.
12/19/2002
I'm not sure these sense of taste like the candy bar, but they are certainly tasty. I gave these away to friends on pretty little Christmas plates. I do agree with another reviewer that I was disappointed in the advent, only mine weren't crumbly. In an effort to make my second batch look more appetizing, I fabricated according to the recipe, merely after they had cooled, I cut them into one/2 inch squares, and rolled them in a melted combined mixture of 1/4 loving cup milk chocolate chips, 1/four cup peanut butter fries and 1 teaspoon shortening. Information technology was sure messy, but they came out looking good and tasted even more chocolatey. So far 4 people accept asked me for the recipe! Thanks Suzanne!
08/thirteen/2003
These were good. A true fan of Infant Ruth bars said they tasted just similar the real thing. I made a fault by calculation the chocolate chips to the Pb mixture before adding the corn flakes. Information technology might have changed the texture but the taste was great.
05/09/2002
I took these every bit a quick treat for my co-workers, the cut upwardly bars disappeared in no time, I used frosted flakes as they are a scrap thicker and hold upward amend in recipes. This recipe was delicious and so simple. clean up was easy too.
06/01/2009
These were AWESOME! I used Honey Corn Flakes and low fatty Jiff creamy pb, and instead of 1/two cup white sugar I used nearly 1/three cup Splenda/Sugar blend. I also but mixed in well-nigh four cups of corn flakes merely used perchance one/ii loving cup more as a topping forth with some extra chocolate fries. I think it would be nice to attempt milk chocolate chips adjacent. But these were great and easy!!!
06/10/2008
Simple recipe, really addictive bar "processed". I made the bars without the chips inside, and instead melted the chips in a makeshift double boiler with a fiddling milk and about a 1/2 c. of creamy peanut butter. Adding the milk fabricated the chips more creamy and easily spreadable. The whole family unit liked these and they could be easily fabricated with ingredients that most people accept on hand. I will make these over again, just I volition try butterscotch chips mixed in with the cereal mixture. Edited 06/09/08: If I make these again, I will skip the melted chips on meridian. Information technology'south too much. I'll just keep the recipe as is. YUM!
08/01/2011
These bars were super easy to put together and really quite tasty. Unfortunately my chocolate fries melted when everything was stirred together and then it looked more like a chocolate bar. My but real issue was the chewiness of the bar. I realize that's considering of the corn flakes, but it may still prevent me from making them once again.
xi/03/2002
Very tasty bars, and easy to make, but very crumbly and unattractive.
03/28/2002
my ix year old son and I fabricated these in less than 15 minutes! We also added the actress pnut butter to help information technology stick together. The idea for the actress fries melted on top really helps this recipe stay together later information technology cools! Delicious!
08/11/2005
These were delicious!! I used nearly 4c. of corn flakes and honey roasted peanuts. Everyone was quite fond of them. I put them into a greased 9x13 baking dish, but I foiled it showtime, and greased the foil. Made make clean up a cinch!
08/12/2003
My husband was in heaven. The bars don't go on so long as the cereal loses its crunch.
03/09/2013
Made this today, really good. Used the amounts listed, wouldn't change a affair. Soft and chewy. Melted the chocolate and drizzled it on superlative instead of mixing information technology in. The all-time function was how fast and easy this is to make. Thanks:)
05/xix/2005
I made these bars for a bake sale at my married man'southward piece of work. I followed the advice of another reviewers and lowered the cornflakes to four cups (crushed), melted more than chocolate chips on tiptop for "icing" and sprinkled chopped peanuts on superlative. They looked actually nice and tasted wonderful!
06/28/2002
It does sense of taste like the candy bar, but i think appreance also counts in gustation and it actually doesn't expect appetizing
10/03/2003
A bang-up treat for the kids - or summer days, when you dont desire the oven on. Sweetness, a great variety in tastes...merely cypher fancy. Thanks.
x/03/2013
I have made these bars earlier (very tasty fabricated per the recipe!), only I was looking for a foundation for making something similar to the Nature Valley poly peptide bars. I had to get with what I had in the pantry, so I used brown rice instead of corn syrup, brown rice puffed cereal instead of corn flakes, and an unprocessed cane saccharide instead of white sugar (and used dark brown saccharide--again just what I had on manus). I likewise added 2 cups peanuts (roasted at habitation and very lightly salted)and the whole pocketbook of chocolate chips (bittersweet fries is what I had on mitt), and I added a splash of vanilla and a scoop of protein pulverisation to the peanut butter mixture earlier I added the dry out ingredients. My finish result was almost spot on for what I was going for, and information technology actually tastes fifty-fifty meliorate than the store-bought bars. I cooked my mixture in the microwave for about 2 1/ii minutes. It turned out perfectly!
10/twenty/2010
My bars were dainty and chewy. Over cooking the sugar mixture would be what makes them hard. One girl thought it needed more peanut butter, the other more chocolate. I volition make them again, but mayhap try and cut back on the sugar to help with the sweetness and see how they plough out.
02/23/2010
These are succulent then piece of cake. I whipped them up in under ten minutes. I fabricated a couple of changes based on the ingredients in my house. I did not accept any white carbohydrate (ahhh!!!). I substituted it for another one/iv of loving cup of chocolate-brown sugar and i/iv loving cup of condensed milk. This seemed to work out merely fine. Also, my cornflakes were adequately stale, but that did not brand whatever divergence. I volition be keeping this recipe on manus for a quick and delicious dessert!
01/14/2012
amazing!
12/27/2002
Succulent! Brought these to piece of work and they were gone in a thing of minutes. I don't remember they taste like a Baby Ruth, however. They gustatory modality like that processed bar called "Whatchamacalit". I don't if anybody remembers those candy bars - they were one of my faves!
01/02/2008
YUM! Perfect every bit is. I merely await until the last infinitesimal to stir in the chocolate fries...and it is soooo good.
09/15/2007
Because the changes I made, these were mighty tasty cookie confined. I substituted Special K cereal for the corn flakes, but then after starting, realized I didn't have enough Special 1000, so then I added in some Rice Krispies. Even with the mix of strange cereals, it's hard to go incorrect with this recipe, regardless of the cereal option. As others suggested, I did not add in the chocolate chips, simply melted them in the microwave and spread on elevation. These were really practiced cookie bars and super like shooting fish in a barrel to make (provided you lot don't let your 6 and three twelvemonth old shell the peanuts and take to clean up the mess. Only buy a can, lol.)
x/17/2003
I agree that these do not taste like Baby Ruths, but like Watchamacallits - not a bad matter to me, since I love those. I left out the peanuts. This is a good recipe when you want to utilise up odds and ends of cereal in your cupboard, too.
05/08/2003
I have to concur with whomever said they taste similar the old Whatchamacallit bar, and not Babe Ruths. They're very sweet - got mixed reviews in my household, but they were still gone in less than 2 days!
10/twenty/2002
Would have been fifty-fifty ameliorate if I hadn't taken them to a SUNNY picnic!!! Will definitely make once again. YUM
04/02/2003
These are so easy and and so Adept!!! Yum! I followed the recipe exactly and they turned out great! Absolutely addicting!
06/05/2002
Nifty recipe! I used half-dozen oz of choc fries and 6 oz of butterscotch chips and omitted peanuts.
02/23/2009
I can't say that these taste much like the candy bar but they sure are good! Some reviewers said these concluded up hard. I cooked my mixture pretty much simply to the bespeak of boiling and male child are they chewy! YUM! I made a sling of sorts out of waxed paper for my pan and then I was able to easily remove and cutting the confined.
05/17/2003
My Kids loved it!
05/06/2007
Taste nothing like the Candy Bars. Messy to cut and not very appetizing looking.
03/05/2003
VERY easy....tastes pretty skilful, perhaps a little too chocolately...a little more peanut butter might have increased my satisfaction.
12/04/2002
Easy to make and surprisingly, nosotros found them to be not besides sweet. They disappeared chop-chop. I'll make this recipe once again.
09/09/2004
this is the all-time no bake cookie i have ever had.
09/09/2010
My married man and I idea these were just ok, but my cleaning lady loved them.
05/eighteen/2010
These were only okay. I don't know why they are called Babe Ruth bars because, to me, they didn't taste anything like my favorite candy bar.
04/21/2002
These were very quick, easy and tasty. My merely suggestion would exist perhaps to sprinkle some chopped peanuts over the peak before they set up to make for a prettier looking bar. I would recommend these and will brand them again.
08/20/2006
I cutting back on the cornflakes per other reviewers to 5 cups. It did not taste similar a Baby Ruth bar at all. Information technology was but okay, but I will not make again. FYI...if y'all cut back on the cornflakes, it would be good to cut back on the corn syrup also. I didn't do that and I remember it would have been much amend if I had.
03/19/2013
Afterward reading some reviews and noticing most users said the bars didn't await pretty I decided to sprinkle the chocolate chips on top of the mixture after putting it into the baking dish. They looked pretty but these bars are way also sweetness for my gustatory modality. I wouldn't change anything on the recipe; the confined are good but for people with a sugariness tooth.
09/24/2002
These were good, but they did turn out kinda soggy. Not quite what I was looking for. If I try these once more, I will probably cook the mixture longer and add more cereal. It was very easy to make, though.
08/03/2005
really skillful.... what's non to like nearly chocolate and peanut butter. :)
03/09/2007
These are and so proficient. It's amazing how much they taste similar the real thing. They are always a hit when I take them to parties.
09/29/2005
First seize with teeth and these def tasted like Baby Ruth bars. I added five cups cornflakes and planned on calculation 1 cup dear roasted peanuts-just I fell brusk in my supplies. They were great anyway. If y'all are looking to make something diff from your average cookie or are in a blitz to make something quick and easy- these are def worth making with a great taste.
01/nineteen/2008
This recipe is really skilful! My co-workers went crazy over it. I did brand 1 little change. I didn't take any peanuts the start time I fabricated it then I just used super clamper atomic number 82 instead. Turns out I acually like it better than addint the peanuts!I also spread chocolate over the top instead of mixing it in...it does look much nicer.
04/10/2008
I brought it to work and everybody LOVED it and kept asking for the recipe =] thanks suzanne!!!
07/06/2010
Just non good! Even used other suggestion of melting chocolate and topping with peanuts. Never again. Tasted zilch like a candy bar.
01/13/2003
These were wonderful and divine. I put them out on New Years Eve and they were gone in well-nigh 15 mintutes! A+A+
04/22/2008
These were so SCRUMPTIOUS!!! I saw this recipe, went home on my lunch break, had an extra 10 minutes and made a pan, quick. YUM!! QUICK & Easy & GOOD! I sprinkled the choc. chips on top right away, and waited a few minutes, then spread out with a spoon. They look and gustatory modality groovy!
05/06/2004
Very good! Gustation like to the actual candy bar, but it has its own unique (and good!) gustatory modality. I would definitely make this recipe again!
01/17/2003
excellent but for a cookies -- they should exist cut a little smaller
03/18/2003
I made these bars for a girl's ski weekend. The treats were devoured in less than 24 hours and they were begging me for the recipe! They were so delicious and addicting!
09/19/2006
delicious and so piece of cake! I used 5 cups of flakes and it seemed to turn out a adept consistancy. Drizzled melted chocolate on tiptop for a better appearance.
09/03/2012
Made a striking - ameliorate the first few days.
12/21/2006
Similar most others, my bars crumbled a bit... but oh, were the crumbly $.25 delicious! My husband loved these and has repeatedly asked for round 2. I might try adding more corn syrup for a greater gluey issue:-)
eleven/27/2000
I fabricated these and brought them to piece of work. Everyone loved them and even got a few requests for the recipe. Thanks for sharing this!
12/xv/2001
Very quick and easy to brand. My 4 kids loved these. I used crunchy peanut butter instead and didn't add any more peanuts. This was swell. Thanks!
02/04/2002
Don't waste matter your fourth dimension! This was very disappointing, the cornflakes turn out to be too soggy. It might exist better with oatmeal or graham crackers? I took them to work and they didn't become whatsoever good reviews everyone likes the baseball bars improve
11/01/2006
I made this for a visitor picnic and won second prize in the bake sale! These are great and perfect for warm weather condition when y'all don't desire to turn on the oven!
01/16/2001
I'one thousand deplorable to say these didn't taste like the candy bar at all to me. As a matter of fact, they tasted more similar peanut butter bars than anything else. Withal, they are VERY easy to make and I'm sure they'd be a real kid-pleaser.
09/29/2002
Once the discussion was out on these, they didn't stick effectually very long at all. Great recipe.
01/07/2006
I thought these were fantastic!! I took the advice of some people here and reduced the cornflakes to five cups. They were SO good! I brought them to a cookie exchange and people just raved most them. They were so easy, too. I lined the pan with waxed paper and sprayed it with cooking spray before I spread it out. This recipe is definitely a keeper!
10/13/2010
Well, they don't taste annihilation like Baby Ruth bars, but they're pretty good. Next time I'thousand going to add together a little extra peanut butter. Also, some other reviews commented that these are very messy, something I didn't find to be true. If y'all follow the recipe as instructed and be sure to press the mass firmly down into the dish and permit it to fully absurd, they cut very easily and concord their class well.
03/09/2009
I've made these a few times now. Love how quick it comes together. This time I sprinkled white & choc chips on top!
05/05/2005
These bars are delicious. They might non accept the greatest advent, but will disappear rapidly once people start tasting them.
03/26/2000
These were a real striking at the function-everyone wanted the recipe!
06/xiii/2005
Succulent! The simply matter I changed on this was I added extra peanuts (approx 1 ane/4 cups). They are actually tasty and will exist making these a lot from at present on.
08/25/2004
I made 2 batches for church java-hour last Sunday, and they were GONE in about 10 minutes! Lots of raves from adults and kids alike. Next fourth dimension'll shell the corn flakes but a little, merely to smooth out the texture a bit. Fast, easy, delicious -- beloved it!
04/28/2008
This recipe was even better than expected, given some of the reviews... I melted chocolate chips and spread them over the top (though 1 cup doesn't quite spread over the unabridged surface), and they turned out delicious and didn't wait too bad either. I actually idea they DID come close to the taste of a Baby Ruth, just maybe it'south been besides long since I've had one. Anyway, a good recipe, not then super sweet as you lot might fear.
03/10/2007
I didnt think these tasted much like the processed bar. That being said, they were very good, and everyone that tried information technology liked information technology, even those that dont care for peanut butter. I followed the recipe exactly, and had no problem with the bars getting hard. They were a tad fleck crumbly but no large bargain. I practice agree with others though; these are tasty but not attactive.I probably wouldnt serve them to guest.
12/17/2001
I added this item to my Christmas goodies this year. I had to brand two batches every bit my married man keep eating them. He test everything for me and went overboard on these. This one is a keeper.
12/thirteen/2005
I was hoping to share these with others, but my family unit ate them all before I could!
09/24/2004
Some people loved this some didn't touch it again.
08/12/2005
Very easy to make and very tasty. I as well only used iv cups crushed flakes and added a picayune more nuts.
12/01/2009
I have made these twice and both times was asked for a copy of the recipe. That makes it a striking in my book and a will be a favorite.
02/09/2009
I used chunky peanut butter, and melted 1c. each semi sugariness choc and butterscotch chips for the superlative, no chocolate within the bars. very adept, and very easy.
06/06/2004
These are excellent and very easy to make! I did use crunchy PB and saved the peanuts to sprinkle on tiptop (be sure to press in while warm) for a nicer presentation.
01/fourteen/2004
Very piece of cake to make. Sweet and gooey. Next time, I'm going to try making them with Rice Krispies instead of Corn Flakes. The Corn Flakes seemed soggy or stale to me.
05/30/2007
My family loved these treats, though we didn't think they tasted like baby ruth candy bars, but were however delicious. We are our second batch this week. I took other viewers advice and put chocolate on summit, and added M&M's to mixture. I would like to try Reese's pieces in them as well. I had no problems getting mixture set correctly and I added vi cups corn flakes.
11/01/2002
These lasted about 10 minutes at work. Anybody loved them and they're and then like shooting fish in a barrel to make!
01/31/2001
These may not taste EXACTLY similar a BabeRuth simply they're very good! I didn't have any cornflakes so I used corn chex instead and they still turned out yummy!
05/xxx/2009
What fun this recipe is. This is an awesome recipe. Non too sugariness if you don't mix the chips in the batter. Just a thin layer of chocolate on height is all you lot need.
05/01/2014
Fast, like shooting fish in a barrel and delicious. I use milk chocolate chips. I also substitute Corn Chex for the flakes to brand them gluten free. This probably gives them better texture as well.
01/14/2004
Very like shooting fish in a barrel to make. Sweet and gooey. Next time, I'1000 going to try making them with Rice Krispies instead of Corn Flakes. The Corn Flakes seemed soggy or stale to me.
12/xx/2004
I used mesomorphic peanut butter instead of calculation in the peanuts.
02/02/2004
This made a bang-up Super Bowl snack. Everyone loved it! I Volition be making this again. Cheers!
07/01/2002
Very good recipe. We loved it. Cheers, Christina
